Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba is proud to announce that Marie K. McConnell, shareholder in the Firm’s Corporate, Business & Banking Group, has been recognized as one of 2019’s Lehigh Valley Business “Women of Influence.”
With over a decade of experience in commercial transaction law, Ms. McConnell’s practice areas include commercial real estate acquisitions and sales, entity restructures, charter schools, for-profit and nonprofit mergers and acquisitions and organizational issues. She also has significant experience in counseling clients with respect to tax exemptions and tax assessment appeals.
Ms. McConnell acts as legal counsel to local and nationally recognized nonprofit organizations, including hospitals, universities, and charter schools, and has represented taxpayers in various matters, including income tax, domicile issues and gross receipts tax. In doing so, she regularly appears before the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Board of Appeals, Board of Finance and Revenue and Commonwealth Court.
She has been a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee beginning in 2019, the Compensation Committee since 2017, the Human Resources Committee since 2016, the Marketing Committee since 2015 and the Finance Committee since 2014. Her strong sphere of influence also extends beyond the office; she is a 2019 Delegate for the international CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Network Nominating Committee, and she was CREW Lehigh Valley’s Secretary from 2015 – 2018.
“Marie is a true woman of influence, with or without the public recognition,” remarked Joseph A. Bubba, founder and Managing Shareholder. “She is a trusted leader in the Firm due to her intelligence and her ability to calmly navigate even the most complex situations.”
