A Lehigh County jury found in favor of the City of Allentown, in a case stemming from a slip and fall on a City street. Shareholder Maraleen D. Shields represented the City during the two-day trial. The plaintiff claimed that she tripped and fell on a crack in a street resulting in permanent injury and disfigurement. The City argued that there was no dangerous condition, nor did the City have any notice of the alleged dangerous condition. The City also argued that the plaintiff bore responsibility for her own injuries because she admittedly was not watching where she was walking. After two hours of deliberation, the jury determined that the plaintiff was largely responsible for her injuries.
