Another big step in Allentown’s rebirth is close to realization. A great combination of benefits for area senior citizens is on the horizon — improved healthcare service, great residential opportunities with new jobs and real economic benefits along with new construction and beautification of a tired City block.
Sacred Heart Residences, a project developed by Pennrose Properties based in Philadelphia, is going to construct a four-story, 66,000 SF residential and healthcare service development at Fifth and Turner Streets. Sacred Heart Hospital, a pillar of healthcare and community service for over a century and the immediate neighbor of the project, is working with Pennrose to bring this project to reality. Beautiful, well-lighted apartments will be available for senior citizens who may take advantage of a wide array of senior-focused services on the first floor, which include physical and occupational therapy, geriatric assessment and care centers, and state of the art rehab services, along with supporting family physician offices.
The Sacred Heart Residences are in a tremendous urban location, bridging the Sacred Heart Healthcare campus to Allentown’s downtown NIZ area with its vibrant retail, restaurant and office community.
FLB’s development team, led by Joe Fitzpatrick with Mallory Sweeney, has been in the lead with the developer, Sacred Heart Hospital and the City as this new addition to the community moves forward.
