Timothy D. Charlesworth, Kenneth R. Charette and Douglas Panzer each presented during the breakfast portion of the Lehigh University Small Business Development Center’s “Bringing the World to You” event on September 10.
“Bringing the World to You” is an annual, state-wide initiative, with presentations throughout all regions of Pennsylvania. The goal is to allow businesses looking forward to overseas expansion to learn more about the foreign economies, listen to top analysts discuss various topics, and network with like-minded people.
The theme of the event was Logistics of Exports. Mr. Charlesworth, who leads the Firm’s International Business & Trade Law Practice, spoke on complex topics such as the Russian sanctions and working with affected foreign counsel, as well as how clients can protect themselves through contractual language.
Mr. Charette, a shareholder in the Firm’s Corporate, Business & Banking Practice, focused on the timely topic of the steel and aluminum tariffs, and what companies can do to seek exemptions from them. Mr. Panzer, head of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice, discussed the nuances of foreign trademark and copyright law.
