We all know the colloquialism “dogs are man’s best friend.” This is especially true of the dogs being trained by Tails of Valor, Paws of Honor to become service animals for veterans. As part of our “30 Acts of Giving” campaign, FLB donated peanut butter, dog toys, and cleaning supplies to the organization. The peanut butter and toys will be used as rewards during training and playtime. The cleaning supplies are necessary but often overlooked items desperately needed by most shelters, especially during the colder months when the animals cannot go outside for long periods of time.

Tails of Valor is a non-profit organization that trains dogs to be service animals for veterans in need.  Their mission is to provide “rehabilitation through non-medicinal therapies with service canines to Veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and physical disabilities.” Every service dog trained by the organization is named after a fallen veteran from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

To help Tails of Valor, Paws of Honor with their mission, click here to donate or volunteer to play, raise or puppy sit the canines in training.

As part of FLB’s 30th Anniversary, we decided to give back to the community that has helped us through the years. Our “30 Acts of Giving” campaign entailed collecting donations for and volunteering our time at 30 local charitable organizations.
